About Roger MARWOOD

Roger Marwood qualified in 1969 at Kings College Hospital. After a short time in General Practice and as a Ship's Surgeon, he began his training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital, Guy's Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, where he was privileged to work for the late Sir George Pinker, then Gynaecologist to the Royal Household. He was appointed as a Consultant to the Westminster Hospital and St Stephens (which became the Chelsea & Westminster) in 1982.

He has extensive experience of all aspects of benign gynaecology, including menstrual and menopausal problems, contraception and well-women care and advice. His particular clinical interests in gynaecology are colposcopy, for which he is an accredited practitioner, and diseases of the vulva. He is a co-author of The Atlas of the Vulva.

He enjoys his Obstetric work, and is very proud of the large collage of hundreds of baby photos which has pride of place in his Harley Street rooms.

At the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital he is also responsible for teaching Medical Students and has recently been honoured by Imperial College for this work.

Nationally, he has been President of the O & G Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, advised the Department of Health on matters relating to O & G and has worked on various committees at the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. He is at present a Media Advisor for the College and represents London on the College Council.

He is married with 3 children and lives in Fulham. His interests are sailing, all kinds of live music, and collecting ties.
